The Mobile World Congress 2015 was, as always, an eventful 3 day. For those who missed out on the latest updates during the Congress, here’s a quick update on some of the major players and their news-making announcements:

Here comes the Android hero – Samsung Galaxy S6 models:  The giant has rolled out two versions viz., the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The breakable plastics have finally been replaced by the highly durable ion tempered glass and aluminium body. The more exciting news are that the S6 version comes with a faster gen-next 64-bit processor and loading time, sharper screen, impressive camera and simpler to understand menus. The Edge model, similar to the Galaxy Note 4 Edge, has a screen that slopes on both sides. More reasons for the Android-Samsung lovers to cheer.

Sony reveals Sony Z4Tablet and Xperia M4 Aqua: There were announcements on the release of Sony Z4 Tablet that comes with octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 6000 mAh battery. The tablet looks quite similar to the thickness of Apple iPad Air 2, yet is lighter and is touted as water-proof. Another release was the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua that is mid-tier device with a 2 GB RAM and octa-core Snapdragon processor.

HTC:  The HTC flagship released the next upgraded version of HTC One M9. It was basically an improved version of the HTC One M8, with the latest version having a Snapdragon 810 processor and an improved 20MP (back) camera. The other addition was the HTC Vive VR platform and hardware for PCs.

Huawei Smart Watch:  Here’s a surprise package from Huawei – a Smart Watch that’s powered by Android. The sapphired scratch resistant glass is an impressive crowd-puller. The Watch is 1.4 inch, 400 by 400 pixel AMOLED display – believed to be one of the sharpest displays in the market.

The Watch has a traditional classy look. The watch can monitor your heart rates and is barometric and hosts a 6-axis motion sensors that can track heart rate whilst walking, running and climbing. Just as other android devices, the battery is something to watch for.

Lenovo:  This is one Smartphone that is for the photography folks. The Lenovo Vibe Shot comes as two models named the Smart Auto and Pro, with a 16 megapixel camera with an optically stabilized image sensor that is paired with a 6-element f/2.2 lens. Also, it contains a Lenovo camera app that gives users additional control on shot composition.

LG Smart Watch:  LG also had a smart watch, released on the Android bandwagon. It’s been named the LG Watch Urbane and a LTE version as well.
